The Correspondences exhibition brought together the work of two visionaries of independent cinema – Spanish director Víctor Erice and Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami. The design approach used two images in parallel, one from each filmmaker, selected to reflect their minimalist style and thematic focus around time, people and landscape. Overlaying the images are two patterns. These patterns were developed as a visual cue to the filmmakers cultural backgrounds, joined by a solid block of colour to represent their coming together for this exhibition.
